Clement's Flying School offers the Recreational Aviation Pilots Certificate, Recreational Aviation Cross Country endorsement as well as the passenger, tricycle undercarriage, fourstroke, two stroke, tail wheel, high performance and low performance endorsements.
Recreational Aviation Pilot Certificate.
The Pilot Certificate course covers the following topics as described by the Manual of Standards as Issued by RAAus. Topics are :- 1. FLIGHT PREPARATION AND GROUND HANDLING 2. RADIO EQUIPMENT AND PROCEDURES 3. EFFECT OF CONTROLS 4. STRAIGHT AND LEVEL 5. CLIMBING AND DESCENDING 6. TURNING 7. STALLING 8. CIRCUITS 9. FORCED LANDING AND PRECAUTIONARY SEARCH 10. OPERATIONS IN THE TRAINING AREA 11. MANAGE ABNORMAL SITUATIONS AND EMERGENCIES Included in these topics is underlying Airmanship issues discussed within each topic. This course is a competency based course and all theory exams are conducted in-house. The minimum hours for the requirement of the issue of the Pilot certificate is 20 hours. There is no minimum age requirement for training, but more limited to whether the student can reach and use the controls. The Youngest student who has began training has been 12 yours of age. The Minimum age a student can be issued a Pilot Certificate is 15 years of age. If you already have flying experience, PPL or a pilot certificated by another flying organisation, we can also offer a conversion training course.
Cross Country Endorsement.
1. CROSS COUNTRY FLIGHT 1.1 Prepare flight plan and comply with airspace requirements 1.2 Notification and SARWATCH 1.3 Navigate aeroplane 1.4 Low level navigation 1.5 Perform lost procedure 1.6 Plan and perform diversion 1.7 Execute arrival procedures 1.8 Use of electronic devices as a supplement to navigational procedures. This course has a minimum flying component of 10 hours with minimum of two hours solo flight.
The cross country flying will include flights north to Casino. Lismore Murwillumbah and Ballina, West to Glen Innes, Inverell, Armidale, and South to Kempsey, Port Macquarie and will cover avoiding controlled Airspace, Transiting Controlled airspace, determining and avoiding prohibited airspace, using Ballina airspace, High altitude and transiting mountainous areas.
